hi Emma kate

and :welcome: to tortoise-world
just had a look at the clock on my wall in tortoise room, it measures 58% but i think it could be debatable what the actual humidity should be, a lot of keepers (including myself) lightly spray the substrate daily
i don't keep a humidity gauge in the tables :innocent:
my basking temps are around 30-32
what substrate are you using?

im getting worried im doing something wrong, we brought her home on friday and she seemed great, she dug down about 6pm and didnt wake up till 1pm saturday, and the same again today,
im using aspen bedding, my basking temp is 26-30 and ive just looked and the humidity has changed to 56, its was 70, so thats great. also the breeder who i got her off said he only feeds them every 2-3days is that correct, ive been giving her little gem lettuce, watercress, spinach, rocket and flat leaf parsley, have you any advice.
it will normally take a few days for her to settle down into a new enclosure, it's possible she is sulking

i'd change her substrate to topsoil (from b&q) some people use a mix of 70% topsoil and 30% playsand (from toys r us)
don't worry too much about humidity, it's not possible to keep it steady in the house anyway
your temparature needs to be a little higher, do you have a clamp that you could lower?
your tortoise will not eat if she is not warm enough
i feed mine every day but don't worry if i miss a day
weeds and flowers are the main diet for your tortoise, spinach and parsley will not do her any good, have a look in the edible section here for suitable foods
i will admit though i've had to resort to tesco's florette salad bags myself as i've not been able to find enough weeds, i think we've all hated this winter!
any pics of your enclosure?
Hi and welcome to tortoise world.

i don't use a hygrometer in my enclosures. Most people with med torts don't. I to have had to use the tesco's florette salad bags. Like Sue said we have all hated this winter. Listen to Sue, Emma she breeds torts and would never recommend feeding them spinach and parsley. Post some pictures we love looking at new torts.
