im realy worried im using the wrong bedding, im using aspen through out the pen, she digges down at night, i got her on friday shes a spur thigh, 2years old this may. the breeder used this bedding so i thought it was fine but im unsure.
also i have her uv light on 8am to 8pm, but she dosnt wake up till about dinner time and digges down about 6pm for the night, is this normal, i just want the best for my angel, we are thinking of getting another, is it best to had 2, together?

when you have another you'll want another..... then another... lol
personally yes i'd change your substrate to topsoil, fill some large seed trays and place inside the tortoise table like here:

your basking lamp needs to go on with the uv too
my lights are on 8 til 8 too and my little ones are up about 10-15mins later

its a heat lamp and uv in one that ive got.
i use a combined too, the 100watt powersun does a great job for me
vetch, plantain and knapweed are (in my opinion) about the best to feed as they're packed with fibre, there's still a lot of campanula about along with bittercress and dandelion, although small at the moment
some edible weeds/wildflowers include:
evening primrose, yarrow, clover, hosta, pansy, petunia, hibiscus, lavatera, milk thistle, dead nettle
can't think of any more but the list goes on....

when i go weed picking, i always go for as many different species as i can get as variety is important, it's easier to get the torts to eat 5-a-day than it is the kids :rolleye:
