How much should be used sprinkle on Greens? Is this a weekly practice or should this be added to every feed?
Hi there,

It's much prefered to put nutrobal on the food and instead leave a dish of calcium carbonate in the enclosure, along with cuttlefish bone for your tortoises to bite/chew on.
Putting calcium carbonate on the food alongside nutrobal, makes the nutrobal ineffective. There is a scientifical reason for this but I can't find the link at the minute. i'll let you know if I find it!
hi josh.i used Calcium carbonate power 5 times a week to dust alfies food and a pinch of reptavite on 2 days.i also leave a dish of Calcium carbonate powder in a little dish.although he sits in it and wont eat it.think he just likes making a mess.he also has a cuttlefish bone.do you think this is ok.
what you do is much the same as i do paulette. I sprinkle limestone flour (out of a pepper pot, no mess!) on weeds daily except the 2 days a week that they have nutrobal, i don't give nutrobal so often now that they're outside though, they also have access to cuttlefish bone

I do the same pauleette Big Grin
I like the pepper pot idea!! Smile
For anyone that might not know, remember that cuttlefish is a pretty poor source of calcium, because of the calcium phosphorous ratio.
My nutrobal regime is to sprinkle it on every meal (but not in summer when they are outside) and then offer limestone flour in a seperate dish at all times. Cuttlefish is good for keeping beaks trimmed but must not be relied on as the only source of calcium Smile
like the pepper pot idea myself wilson.going to get 1.just got to get alfie to try his cuttlefish.he sniffs it but wont touch it.
mine eats soooo much flour im suprised her poo isn't white!!
