I go weed picking on a regular basis, and grow some weeds with ease

But i would like to feed my torts more flowers. I will be buying some plug plants , and just wondered what flowers you grow for your torts...
So far i have these in my basket
Aubretia
Coreopsis
Geranium
Osteospermum
Hi...they can eat pansies, violas, petunias, to name but a few. There's a fab site called thetortoisetable that can guide you on exactly what torts can and can't eat

Thank you Clare,

I would be careful of members of the daisy or aster family as some are not good for tortoises - do you know which ones these are exactly.
Sue, Thanks for making me double check, as the one i have already got in my garden is an African Daisy called Osteospermum. I think i'll steer clear of them all to be on the safe side

coreopsis is also a member of the Asteraceae family

Many plants that are quoted as unsuitable though are really just unsuitable for other animals and humans. The tortoises digestion system is much slower than ours, making it easier for tortoises to digest otherwise unsuitable plants. It's probably safest to stay with the ones we all know to be suitable, but it makes you wonder if there are any plants that other animasl can eat that torts can't - hmm I've confused myself now lol Seriously though, in the wild they do eat buttercups and I have seen one eating papaver poppies.
