When they run out lol - as I said, I was advised not to let her breed, but that advice turned out to be as daft as that from another 'expert group' that advised I did not let a 20 year old tort breed as she had never been with a male (I think they were thinking of dogs lol) - it does make you wonder who decides these factors at times lol. It's a bit like the golden rule (feed as much as will cover the shell) I wonder where that first came fromBig Grin
i simply don't want her to breed because she hasn't ever before (well not to my knowledge) and i don't want to start now as she's likely to be pushing on 100 yrs old
maybe tho that's what the matter was with her? she can smell the others?

I did not want old Tilly to breed either and her first eggs were shaped like torpedoes. The 'powers that be' scared the pants off me telling me she was too old and would be damaged etc etc. Thing is, she is much healthier now than she has ever been and lays normal shaped eggs. Once they start laying there is not a lot you can do and there is actually more that can go wrong from not running with the males to be honest, a bit like dogs with false pregnancies. I just leave them to it now.
Mine sniff me before they try and bit me lol.
