Thursday is pacing like mad!
i don't know if she's ever had eggs before but as far as i know she's never ever seen another tortoise until i introduced her to Cleo
i'm hoping this isn't an emergency trip to the vet for oxytocin
i think she's way too old?
i don't know if i should try soil in a box?
if she is needing/wanting to lay eggs, please pray she'll be ok for us
Wow! What a shock Sue, hope the old girl is alright!
Oh god. At her age 2. You wouldn't think it would you. I would try a nest box for her and see how she gets on. If she doesn't lay and keeps on pacing it might be a trip to the vets after all just to make sure. Keep me fingers crossed she will be fine.

she's soil-sniffing and acting gravid, she's also the only one up, the rest have all settled down for the night
typical it's the weekend, i think that's what's bothering me too
knowing there's no vet around
if she does lay eggs, i just hope that she'll be able to cope, i don't want her to be egg-bound, poor thing's been through enough in her lifetime. she's been restless the last few days but tonight she is like something from the omen!

Just keep an eye on her Sue. Hope shes ok. I have that problem with Willow the youngest female that i just got. She laid 2 eggs under her light. Then she went on to have 3 more with no shell on. Then she laid the smallest egg you have ever seen. Less than 2 weeks later she laid 1 egg and another really small egg. Now she is acting gravid again.

Sorry to be dense about it but what is Thursdays story? Whats is her history? I would love to know.
Of course I hope that she is ok and have my fingers crossed for you all.
here's a bit of history
we now think she is well into her 90's and it turned out that the pink areas on her weren't scepticemia but dust, yes dust and grime that had got under the damage on her shell so was very pleased with that
she got a clean bill of health and i've managed to get her to eat weeds
last summer she would only eat grass
