I used my son's old frog-shaped water/sand pit (tortoise can't see out or climb out and when the enclosure is not in use we can cover it up).
These are brilliant for tiny torts. Get a dish that is big enough for him to sit in but I would not bother with one for food as it is best if they have to go hunting for theri food and get exercise at the same time.

Great idea ! What i did with mine is i bought a massive rabbit cage off a friend at work for a tenner (bargain) i then put some compost in the bottom of the tray then i bought a roll of turf from B&Q was only £2.08. They love it in there and it protects them from birds of prey and the odd lurking cat altho they did chase one off last week when my wife was sat out in the garden with them on the lawn lol She said it freaked when they ran at it i guess it must be like an alien to the domestic cat
