I HAD A FEELING IT WOULD COME OUT TODAY AS ITS ALOT WARMER I AM NOW GOING TO KEEP HIM INSIDE UNTIL WE HAVE BUILT A TORTOISE PROOF ENCLOSURE MY SON WILL BE RELIEVED WHEN I PICK HIM UP FROM SCHOOL. THANKYOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR ADVICE AND SYMPATHY. IM SO HAPPY I CAN NOW GROW MY TORTOISE SEEDS WHICH I WAS HOLDING BACK FROM.

That's brilliant news, those horsfields are little devils for tunneling out. If you dig out the area he lives in completely and line it with flags, with small gaps to let water escape, but not big enough for a tortoise he should be foxed next time. Make sure too that there is nothing against the edges that he can use to climb over. What good luck that your neighbour new you had lost him too. :dancingbanana::dancingbanana:
