Hi I really urgently need help! My 3 year old horsfields tortoise went missing yesterday evening and i cant find him anywhere. Im really worried about him. I searched for hours yesterday and today but there was no sign. He was in a smaller enclosed area of my garden and i left him roam for a little while and when i came back he was gone!Sad Im really scared he wont be able to survive the weather as it rained today, its getting dark and theres still no sign! Any info or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Sad
Hi and welcome to tortoise world. Horsfield tortoises love to climb and dig. It's more than likely that he has dug down somewhere. Look under bushes etc. They are harder than you think. When the sun comes out he is more than likely to show up. Put some of his favourite food out and see if it goes missing. Let us no how you get on.

HI DONT PANIC MINE WENT MISSING FOR 4 days 2 weeks ago i hunted everywhere like you i have a 45 foot garden with plenty of places to escape into neighbours gardens the first thing i did was look for hours i then alerted my neighbours the chances are hes tunneled under until its warmer then he will come out again. My neighbour found mine 4 days later near his greenhouse my horsefield is 5 and it came back healthy yours will probably just hide until its warm enough. I hope you find him though i know what it feels like i felt lost.

Hi there, as the others have said, he will be fine just so long as you find him. Make sure the garden is tort proof in case he comes up in a different place and let your neighbours know (if you can trust them) that he is out. Rain won't hurt him and he will be capable of getting away from any frost as they can tunnel for several feet.
Let us know when he turns up.

Keep looking Cristin as they don\'t have much of a homing instinct so tend to keep going if they find a way out. Not trying to worry you, just letting you know they don\'t always return on their own.
