After noting a good book recommendation from Sue, Holger Vetter, would it be worth having somewhere to post written publications and articles to provide detailed husbandry advice? I would certainly appreciate doing some background reading, etc maybe others would too?

Hi Gary. I will try and have a word with Josh. It is a very good book. I was reading it while i was at Sue's. I know it's a herman book and i don't have hermans but it was a very good read and the germans are far move advanced than what we are. To be honest hermans and russians are very much the same to keep i find the only difference is russians are diggers. Reading the book made me question a few things to be honest.

A good book for horsfield owners is the Russian Tortoise by Ed Pirog. I know, I know, Ed can be a bit misleading on the forums, but his book is really worth reading and just helps to illustrate what a wind up merchant he is lol Sorry Ed if you are looking in, you know we love you really LOL

Decent books are costly that's true. If you come to tort sit you will get a free read like Paulette did lol. I was looking for one the other day but it costs £140 new. Now that will have to wait, it's too much even to give myself as a Christmas present.

Whoa thats an expensive book takes me back to uni days. Well I got the russian book for under £4 on amazon, so great look forward to that. Tort sitting sounds very interesting you'll have to enlighten me as and when
I'm still looking for the other hermanns book, though to be honest £30 isn't the end of the world, certainly compared to a vets bill, lol

possible ideas to consider
'Things to expect' a lot of people start on this site when they first get a torty, things like urates, digging under to sleep, sneezing in the water etc etc silly small things that i know i wasnt expecting due to poor knowledge.
and also a place to write stories, i have cute stories about the torts and im sure other people do to! a 'my baby did THIS today!' page
what are your thoughts?
