hi april.i use panacur.worming a tortoise is not easy.i took terry my rescue tort to the vets.it took 3 of us and it still didnt happen.so back home came terry and the panacur.i put it on his food and he wouldnt eat it at first.got there in the end though.like sue says if it ain't broke, don't fix it.if you get your tort from a good uk breeder the chances are that it wont have worms anyway.it is easy to take a poo sample to the vets to be tested.then if its got worms then worm it.i wouldnt just worm for the sake of worming.i think it can cause a lot of stress for your tort.terry had to be wormed as i had seen them in his poo.it makes a change for someone april to do their homework first before getting a tort.i only wish more people were like you.
thanks for your comments ...I am doing lots of research and if I had one now im sure Id be ok
esp with a website on hand like this one

Hi Jayne
Butternust squash will not cure a problem of these proportions. You need to take a sample to a vet for diagnosis. Panacur will get rid of the thread worms but there may be other parasites present which need a different treatment.
Hope this helps
Hi found a worm in my hermans water tray today been reading about the panacur powder for the food and am fairly sure he will take some on board. Which panacur product is best, there seem to be different strengths?
Thanks
Lil
try panacur granules for puppies, not sure on dosage you'd need but look at the directions, it should give you an indicator re weight
you will probably find that torts don't like it but if in doubt go to your vet
