Hi Guys,
It's getting to the time of year where people start to plan their outdoor enclosures, and some people are emailing me for ideas so...please post your outdoor enclosures in here!
Maybe a short description, or listing plants and features that are in it as well as the species in it might be handy for people to get ideas from!

For two small hermanns, grass is in there, plus weed seeds (hadnt grown by then) and rocks and a hide.

Fencing to protect from dogs and foxes ect.
Josh.. that is legendary

you live in UK right? what sort of tempature would you consider allowing them outside then?
Cheeky question.. how much you think that cost to build?
Im planning building a pen as stated in my other post and im a first time buyer on my own so will monitor fund allowance.
Any chance of a picture of your adult herman's please mate? or any one else for that matter who has adult hermann's
fantastic tho josh.. !
Thanks Adam

Not sure how mucgh it cost to build. The fence panels where cheap, they where from B&Q, as where the fence posts. The shed was about £100, the heating obviously cost considerably more. We got the breezeblocks, paving slabs, and soil for free as my dad's mate (Who helped construct it) is a gardener and had some left over from another job. He did our garden at the same time, so we had a lot of old logs and other fixtures that could be used. I am in work at the moment but will put some pics of Yanni up for you (Adult female hermanns) when I get home. She is a lovely tortoise who I re-homed 2 years ago now

I am still in touch with her original owners, who enjoy updates with new pictures from her. She is currently asleep in the fridge at the moment.
You mention heating, how do you heat that area then ?
keep looking at the photo's for ideas lol.. hmm
On a side note.. my house im moving into has a green house so i will be planting a nice varied range of foods for them.. once im in and there all potted.. ill post a piccy.
Also i dont hibernate mine :o
Greenhouses can make excellent additions to enclosures to extend the summer months. I would advise hibernating your Hermanns, they hibernate in the wild and not hibernating them could have an ill effect. It can lead to excellerated growth amongst other things.
ill do some reading up on how to etc then

cheers again
Forgot to say- My torts have free access to the outdoors from their shed and only ever lock them in if I know it's going to be really cold. They will warm up, and then come out and go back in to warm up. I turn off their lamps some days as when its really hot they won't even venture back into the shed.
ahh i see, your shed has a little opening for them.. well dam.. im just full of envy now

im gonna cry lol

I bet you could create something very similar!

Your new house sounds perfect.
