As i will not be hibernating Olive this year i was wondering what sort of care she will need over the winter months.Big Grin

1. Will she still need regular bathing?

2. Her appetite is not quite so good as it was, does it matter if she doesn't eat every day? and is this normal, will she not feel as hungry?

3. Can she still go for a bit of exercise outside on mild days?

4. Will she loose weight if she doesn't eat much or will she sleep more and not use up the energy?
Hi Jenny. She will still need her baths. It's the same really as you are doing now. She will slow down. Terry(grumpy guts) my horsfield has slowed right down, he eats every other day now. Rosie my other horsfield eats like a pig still every day. Olive will sleep a lot more and eat less. Just keep an eye on her weight. Try not to over feed her. This is where over weight tortoises come from when they don't hibernate. She will eat when shes hungry.
how should we treat torties who dont hibernate? mines a bit lazier i think, might have to increase heat time?
Thanks Paulette, thats put my mind at restSmile was begining to get a bit worried that she not eating every day Big Grin
