Hi, what exactly is limestone flour, and when we get our tortoise, where would I be able to buy it from? I understand that this must be sprinkled on the food for 5 days of the week, then nutrobal the remaining 2 days. I'm familliar with nutrobal as I've kept reptiles before, but never heard of limestone flour! Rolleyes Sorry if I'm being thick lol!
You can get limestone flour from Wilsonathome on this site or off the internet. Hope this helps
Thank you Sky!

Limestone flour is pure calcium. It should be offered as a supplement for the tortoise to help itself from. Not sure where you had the info re 5 days limestone and 2 days nutrobal :/
Most recognised organisations advise daily supplementation of nutrobal when the tortoise is growing and 2 - 3 times a week when adult. The reason for supplementing nutrobal daily is because in this country there is a shortage of D3 available to tortoises especially when kept indoors. Hope this helps
Thank you Wizzasmum, I have a lot to learn! I can't remember where I read that! Everyone seems to say different things! We are going to speak to the tortoise specialist today, so I'm sure he'll give us lots of good info and advise!
